Where is the library?
The GIT Library is located at 291 Broadway, 4 th floor, Room 4B. We are directly across from the elevators on the fourth floor.
Who may use the library?
The library is open to all Globe Institute of Technology students, faculty, and staff. Please bring your Globe I.D. and leave it at the Reference Desk upon entering the library. Students who come from academic institutions that are METRO members, and have their yellow or blue Referral Cards, will have permission to use the GIT Library.
What are the library hours?
The library is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and open on Saturday and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Can I out check out materials?
All materials except for Reserve, Reference, Journals, and Newspapers can be checked out with a valid Globe I.D.
How do I apply for a library card?
Bring your Globe I.D. to the library and fill out a Library Card Application Form.
How do I renew books?
Books may be renewed in-person or over the telephone if they are not overdue.
Do you have a photocopier?
Yes. A copy machine is available for photocopying in the library’s Computer Room. You must first purchase a copy card which costs $1.00, and then add the amount needed for copying. Copies are 15 cents per page.
Do you have computers?
The library’s Computer Room has five terminals. A userid and password is required to log on.
